hey it's me Emperor Steve

what's up folks my name is Justin C.M. Brown a.k.a. Emperor Steve
born in raleigh north carolina, living in los angeles california

i've been producing music using FL Studio since 2002

mostly on laptops with headphones, but occassionally in studios

i also DJ as DJ BIG WHUP and make music as Browntown Sessions, Plain Brain, and with the Brownsbrothers.

here's my pitch: Emperor Steve is instrumental music to inspire creative thought.

so listen to this music and let yourself think creatively

in whatever medium feels right to you

maybe it's a picture, maybe it's a story, maybe it's a math problem

it's a musical rorschach test which encourages the listener to produce new creative work, either alone or collaboratively

this is especially true of creative conversation (the weirder the better) -

play this music with your friends and see where the conversation goes

i'm a big believer in the power of social change through creative expression

to address the ideological and existential challenges our society is facing

so with that said, it is my greatest hope that this music will inspire creative thought and expression in as many people as possible for as long as it exists. that is what it was made to do.
