when summer comes

we know it cannot stay

when summer comes

forget the coldest day

but then it leaves

and we're left alone and cold

we wait again

for the next summer day

why do we always wait for summer

when we know it's going to leave

let go of wishing for the summer

to see the beauty in the winter fall and spring

this song is about wanting what you don't have

because you think a change would make you happier than your current state

but that desire is what separates you from being happy in the present moment

and it also makes it impossible to enjoy it when you have it

because you know you're going to lose it

we talk about seasons like they're 4 neatly divided periods of time

but it's really all a blur isn't it

sure there are days when we're sure it's one of them

but what about all the days when it's not so clear
